Its late at night after a long shift in the restaurant. The last thing you want to do is clean the kitchen and prepare it for the next day. With a standard quarry tile floor your kitchen cleaning protocol is to fill the mop bucket up with water and soap. Dump the dirty mop into the mop bucket and swish the mop around on the floor. Rinse an repeat until the floor is wet and somewhat clean. This practice has been around for what seems like for ever. The problem with this age old method is that it doesn’t really work or do the job of cleaning the floor. All the mop is really doing is spreading the dirt and grease into the grout lines in the quarry tile floor. Years of this causes the grout in the quarry tile to become black or dark brown (Grout is installed in a grey color). This also damages the grout and ends up slowly destroying the very floor your trying to take care of. Cleaning companies have tried to solve this with numerous different products that aim at bringing the dirt to the surface so it attaches to the mop when you clean. However, those cleaning solutions end up creating a slipping hazard and an even worse deteriorated grout lines. First let me say, cleaning any floor is not easy, but their are easier floors to clean.
JetRock’s cleaning process is unique in there is no mop or mop bucket. JetRock’s floor creates a water tight floor which means the dirt and grease is sitting on top of the floor ready to be washed away. The JetRock cleaning process uses a concentrate called Safe Care or any non enzymatic degreaser found in most catalogs. We suggest using hot water in the bucket of soap to lift as much dirt as possible . Pour the bucket of soap and hot water over the floor, and let it sit. I know, waiting to clean up this water soap mess you made will be tempting, but let the soap do its job and lift that dirt out of the floor. Fill your bucket again with hot water and continue this routine around the kitchen until the floor is soaked with water and soap. Now its time to break out the neoprene squeegee and use this to push the water into the floor drains. What you will see behind the squeegee is a clean, bacteria free JetRock floor. We understand the challenges in changing a routine for cleaning crew and employees, but what your doing with the mop is not cleaning the floor. With a JetRock floor it will come clean like the day it was installed, and will stay like this as long as its taken care of on a regular basis.
